Mascara Tips: Mascara application tips and tricks
- Instead of using a eyelash comb to separate lashes, use the mascara wand. Simply wipe the wand on a clean tissue then use the wand to separate the eyelashes.
- Never pump the mascara wand in and out. Pumping the mascara will push air into the tube, potentially drying out the formula and introducing bacteria into it. Instead, wiggle the wand inside the tube to apply the product onto the wand.
- Save your old mascara wand. Use this as a brush to separate eyelashes fatter applying mascara.
- Mix and match your mascara. Makeup artists swear this tip. Apply one coat in a volumizing mascara then apply a second coat in a lengthening. the two different brushes also help in creating long beautiful lashes.
- If you have small eyes, apply the mascara only to the top eyelashes. this opens and brightens the eyes.
- Thick Eyelashes: Apply a coat of eyelash primer. Eyelashes primers condition and thicken the lashes and prepare your lashes for mascara.
- Longer Eyelashes: Hold the mascara wand vertical and apply up and down to each lash. This extends the lashes.
- Apply a very light coat of powder to your eyelashes before applying mascara. This helps thicken the lashes.
- If you smudge your mascara while applying, chance are your brush is too big. Opt for a smaller, thinner wand to apply the mascara.
