Application of single, false eyelashes
Individual false eyelashes are small clusters of fake lashes that are connected together at the end. They are applied one by one to your own natural lashes, using a false eyelash adhesive glue. Single fake eyelashes are great for filling in sparse areas of a lash line and can look quite natural if applied correctly and used with mascara. Use these tips below for the application method of applying individual false eyelashes, their benefits and disadvantages compared to strip fake eyelashes.
Step Two: Preparing the Glue
Individual false eyelash Tips
Remove one of the fake lash clusters from it's tray. If removing with a pair of tweezers, be careful, as you can dent the lash. Next, using either your fingers or tweezers to hold the lash, place the lash onto you natural eyelash. Check the length. If it's too long, simply snip the ends of the fake eyelash with scissors. You can also trim after they are applied.
From my experience, I think it's a great idea to invest in a clear glue. The black glue sounds good in theory, however, I found it's too prominent once all the lashes are in place.
Apply a small amount of glue to a piece of tin foil. The glue dries very fast, so just add little using a toothpick, enough to dip 1 or 2 lashes in is adequate enough.
Step Three: Gluing the Individual false eyelashes
The clusters of lashes will be glued to your natural lashes, not the eyelid itself. Start at the outer corner of the eyes. Using your tweezers, take a cluster and dip it into the glue. Wedge the glued lash into your natural lashes. Look to confirm placement. Hold it in place for a few seconds so it dries in place. Stay as close to the root of your real lashes as possible. Usually 5 clusters is enough per eye.
Once all individual false eyelashes are in place, allow glue to dry for at least 10minutes. You can trim now if you haven't already. Once you apply mascara, the fake lashes blend nice with your natural eyelashes.
- Stay away from the inside of the eye. Concentrate on applying the lashes more on the outer corners.
- Personal preference, but I like the clear glue better for individual lashes
- Mascara is a must! The lashes look a little unrealistic without it. But once you coat the eyes, you can't even tell they are there.
- For a Doe look, apply 2 or 3 Individual eyelashes just in the outer corners of the eye.
- Some fake eyelashes claim to be "permanent" and will last at least 5 weeks. I found mine lasted 3-5 days. They shed gradually while I washed my face and it did become a pain when I only had 1 left on an eye. Next, time adhesive remover is on my shopping list.
- Applying individual false eyelashes is not as easy as it sounds. But after 5 or 6 clusters, it does get a bit easier. Allocate at least an hour for the first time applying the lashes.
- Petroleum jelly is said to loosen the lashes enough to remove.
