Under eye Circles: How to Conceal dark, under eye circles with makeup
If you have dark, under eye circles you know how hard it can be to cover with makeup. Concealers can sometimes be thick and seep into the small lines and wrinkles around the eyes,making dark circles even more prominent. But these few makeup tips, you can help hide those circles.
Using concealer to cover dark eye circles
There's two tricks to covering dark circles, one is to use regular, skin toned concealer. The other is to use a color correcting concealer.
Skin toned concealers: The consistency of the product is key. For under eye circles, the concealer must be very thin and light in texture. If you're concealer is the right color, but too thick,add a drop of water to to it, then lightly daub the concealer under the eyes.
Corrective Makeup Color Concealers: These types of concealers are colored to help neutralize the bluish, purple circles. A good concealer for dark circles under the eyes should have a yellow base. Eye makeup Tips for dark under eye circles
- Avoid using eyeshadows, eyeliners and mascara in tones of purple and blues. These colors will make the dark circles stand out.
- Use a yellow based concealer for under the eyes.
- If using mascara, don't apply it to the lower lashes
- Avoid concealers containing oils, because the oil will settle into the fine lines under your eyes and draw attention to the circles
- Lightly dust the undereye area with a yellow correcting powder
- Avoid using too much eyeliner on the bottom lids. Emphasize the upper lids to draw attention away from the dark circles below.
- Lightly dust a thin line of taupe shadow under your lower lashes to offset any bluish under eye circles
